Images

Hey everyone. Be sure when you upload your images or pictures to your computer that you name them when you save them. I've been getting a lot of views because of my images being named. I've asked a few of my customers how they found me and they're saying that they were searching images and seen one of my images, clicked on it and it brought them to my booth. So, keep in mind that it is very important to name your images as your uploading them to your computer.

If you search "Vintage Harwood Softball" you will find this item of mine is the second one down on the first page of 2,030,000 pages. Then if you click on images in that same search you will see the picture of this softball is towards the top of the images page also. Not to shabby ah?

On my blogger stats, I'm seeing lots of views coming in from image searches. Just thought I'd pass this on to everyone. Good Luck!

Shipping

Well everyone we are upon the Holiday shipping season once again. I'd like to remind everyone that postal workers are stressed and are working long hours to make sure ours packages arrive in a timely manner. Remember that our packages are not always handled in the way that they should so, be sure to glue the packages flaps and use extra tape to ensure that your package will not come apart in rough handling.

Another thing I like to do during the winter months (well I do it all the time or try to remember to)
is always place a clear piece of over sized tape over your address and return labels. This is a good practice to use because damp weather might make the labels run and unable to read costing everyone time and money.

Also be sure any extra space in your box is filled with packaging material. This makes the package less resistant to crushing.

Cyber Monday was Bad

Ok everyone, ... here's my thoughts on cyber Monday. I sat here all day tweeting and facebooking to no avail. My site had lots of views but no sales. So, my conclusion on advertising like a mad man doesn't work on social sites. I guess the article I posted about which is better? SEO or Social Media? is correct as far as advertising to people that already know what Items, products or services you offer.

It's like having a yard sales and trying to sell to your neighbors that already know what you have to offer. We have to think outside the box and figure out the best way to advertise to people outside of social media groups. Some ways to do this is advertise on your vehicle with vinyl lettering or graphics because not only are the same people seeing your advertisements everyday, so are other people seeing it for the first time. I think of it as opening the phone book and showing the people on the bus your Ad everyday. Some will have already seen it however there will be new people on that bus whom never have seen it.

An other way is to advertise on sites like craigslist.org or upillar.com.

Do a search on "Classified Ads" or "Classifieds" and you will see a lot of sites that let you post an ad for free. Usually the sites at the top are the top sites to list on because they've been the longest running or are most popular. (be sure to never leave any personal information on classified sites) Just leave a link to your selling site. Good Luck!

Which Is Better? SEO or Social Media?

by Conrad Walton

To all my friends that sell online. You really need to read this article about shoppers behaviors and how they shop online when it comes to purchases. This article states that When someone needs or wants to buy, they particular item they search for it rather then visual site purchasing. What this article is saying that we can tweet and facebook all we want but a sale only comes when an item is needed or wanted through searches. This is why using the best keywords works for selling on the net.

How to make more sales

How to make more sales....hmmmmmm Is this a question or a comment?

Well, it's been my experience that you can Twitter, Facebook, Stumble upon, Craig's list, email until your blue in the face day in and day out. I find it really doesn't matter unless you have the right product at the right price. Let's face it, we have a lot of competition out there all trying to get the first crack at the person who is willing to purchase online. We have to always be sure to present our items as professionally as we can and also package and ship our items as professional as possible as we can. "We Never get a second chance to make a first impression"

I sell a lot of different new and gently used items and surprising enough the only thing that sells well for me is my decals. I've been hoping to move away from making and selling decals however, for now until I can find the right product the decals will have to stay. eCommerce has always been a passion for me as it is to millions of sellers online today. We have to stay focused and our eye on the prize.

Wishing Everyone a Great Holiday Selling Season! Now get out there and SELL,SELL,SELL...LOL

Getting Noticed

The holiday season is fast approaching. Are your items ready to be found by people seeking that special gift for that some one special? If you are unsure, perhaps some of these tips might help Santa put your gifts right in front of that eager internet shopper.

Be sure you name your pictures (when you save them to your computer) according to what the item is. Use keywords in naming that pictures because some internet searchers, search the images in their internet browser.

Next, your title should read specific as to what the item is. Lets say you want to sell a fishing lure. Well your not going to title it "fishing lure" of course (you'll never be seen with the millions of lures Cabelas or Bass Pro Shops sells...LOL) You want to be more specific like:

"Strike King Mini King Spinnerbait 2 oz. Clear/Silver/Red"

Strike King is the manufacture
Mini King Spinnerbait would be the name of the lure
2 oz. would be the weight
Clear/Silver/Red would be the color

Use these words in your bullet list and in your description as many times as you can without looking to obvious. If you use keywords to many times, search engines will consider it spamming and will ignore it all together. I try to use my keywords up to three times in a listing.

After your item's listing is perfect, be sure to Twitter, Facebook, Stumble, and Craigslist it. The more hits (views) your item receives and how well your title and description is written will be where your item will rank in search engines.

Another good way to get noticed is when your thinking of something to blog. Search Facebook for that keyword(s) thats what I did when I made this posting. I typed in Facebook search "Getting Noticed" and there was a lot of postings on this topic so I decided to use this phrase. Now if you go to facebook search and type in "Not" or "Get" my blog pops up right away with my avatar. Search your idea and keywords FIRST before you title a blog.

Opps! I forgot to mention that advertising on your vehicles window with vinyl lettering or even a nicely designed decal always helps. There's a lot of bored people waiting for something and they're always searching on the internet with their cell phones and net books. Shouldn't they be searching your store also? You just never know. I get sales from my decals all the time. Remember, a Business with No Sign, is a Sign of no Business!

Now I have to go and spiffy up my items to be sure everything is ready for the Holiday Shopping Season.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to All!
